Practice Philosophy

The word that best describes my life philosophy, and subsequently my practice philosophy is balance. Whatever goals we may have in finances, fitness, health, relationships, spirituality, and so on, I find all things come together when we find the balance that is correct for us. I also recognize that balance has a different meaning to every individual and with it the type of massage style, pressure, duration, and frequency need to be assessed on an individual basis. What works best for one client may not work best for another. My hope is that through solid communication and value in my field I can work with every individual that enters my room to benefit from their individual massage treatment plan.

Why I do what I do

About a decade ago I found myself in constant pain with severe tension headaches stemming from the upper back. Upon investigation I found massage therapy (along with Chiropractic care) to be extremely beneficial in managing my pain. As I began to search for a new endeavor I found myself drawn to massage therapy as it is not only something I enjoy, but also something I have found incredibly beneficial. I also found massage therapy intriguing as it challenged me in a kinesthetic way that I had never been challenged before. In school I never found myself thrilled with anatomy or understanding the body, but once I began to receive massage myself I found I had underestimated the depth, beauty, and knowledge it takes to posses a thorough understanding of the musculoskeletal system.

Practicing massage therapy has brought with it a wonderful experience of meeting a diverse set of individuals which gives way to the appreciation of how unique and yet how similar every body can be. With it, although every client's experience is different, I find being able to help manage people's pain to be an incredibly rewarding opportunity. It truly is difficult to not enjoy a field where people are genuinely happy to receive the care you can provide.
